So I have wrapped up another UOP class and will now take the summer off. I am supposed to travel to China on business (I would've left this Friday but our printers are stuck in customs) then travel to a family reunion in Wyoming and then family vacation to Hawaii on September first. All of that and another class would just be a bit too much!

Fun time at the Vineyard Boise 4th of July shindig yesterday. This is certainly a case where church becomes family and community, since family is all hundreds of miles away and the neighborhood doesn't do much (anything) together. The guys at Thursday night poker were talking about putting together a block-party, but probably next year.

It was fun to hang out with friends and have something that the kids all had fun doing. We had barbecue, watermelon eating contests (Kira and Toby both gave it a try) live music and horseshoes. Josh must've played volley-ball for 3 hours straight, while Kira and Toby ran around with friends and had water fights. It all wrapped up with fireworks. A perfect 4th get-together.

Mr. Dood,
Glad all y'all had a nice Fourth. On Sunday V and I went to the Crossroads Vineyard in San Jose (a combination of City Vineyard and South Bay Vineyard.) John and Kay were leading worship and it was nice to see them again. Mike Abrahamson is playing with them too. We saw Mary Riley but didn't get to talk to her much. Rick Adkins and his wife Linda were there, along with their son, daughter-in-law, and grand daughter. Church with your boss is kinda cool! Pastor Matt got a call right in the middle of teaching and had to leave cuz his wife was going into labor! Haven't heard if they had the baby or not. John took over and there was an extended worship and prayer time. Monday found San Jose Vineyard at Morgan Hill Community Park for fireworks. About 25 people showed up and we sat most of the night with Pete and Quiang Li. She is a typical pregnant woman. Worried that she's too fat, but very pleased all the same. Good fireworks, but it got very cold- brrrrrr! It all made me remember when you were here with us (sniff, sniffle, tearful eyes.) We miss you guys!

Yikes, this is more of an e-mail message than a blog post comment! Thanks for the update all the same ;)
