The CAT continues...

We had our first all CAT (Compassion in Action Team) leaders meeting last night. Tri asked us to put together a task force to see how we can best respond to scenarios similar to the Katrina/Rita hurricanes in the future now that we have some experience with it. I'm on the task force and we are supposed to meet next week and come up with a plan and then ask for long-term volunteers at an all CAT team potluck later this month (it's not the church without a potluck, right? ;). It will be great to be part of a team that responds to emergencies whether here locally, nationally or even internationally at some point. It will be interesting to see if disasters continue to increase on a "biblical proportion" in the future like many say they will.
