We saw my sister and brother-in-law off early this morning. They were here visiting and dropping off spare fire-fighting gear from Forks, Washington. I've included a link because I'm sure you are thinking "where the heck is Forks?!"
We had a very nice, but busy visit. They got here on Thursday night and we got up the next morning and went snow-shoeing. We haven't done that since they were here last time two years ago, and we found out that Bogus Basin has a pretty nice Nordic area. It's a lot closer than the park 'n ski locations, but not near as wilderness-like. We still had fun though! We got back home, had dinner and went to see the musical "Cats." It was a local production rather than the Broadway tour, but it was still a very good, well rehearsed show. Saturday we spent the day mostly shopping at REI and Costco. It seems they don't have either of these very close to Forks, although I think they have a Costco within a 3-hour drive. Sunday we went to church and then drove out to the 1000 Springs area near Hagerman, Idaho. It was a very cold day (I don't think it got above 25 degrees) but we had fun sightseeing.
It was sure nice to get to visit, and like the rest of our relatives it's too bad that they live so far that we only get to visit every year or so. They are a lot of fun and it's for sure I would stay in a lot better shape if we spent any more time with them. Who knows, maybe we would even bicycle more!
