Thanks to Katherine who lead me this morning to research a bit of useless trivia that I had previously accepted as fact, but turns out to be more of a coincidence. I am of course referring to the Internet rumor that the width of the space shuttle SRB's was owed to the width of two horses rear-ends via the chariot tracks left on the roman roads. I guess I fell for it since I hate bureaucracy and this story reminded me of it. There is an interesting article on it here.
